The Story Behind Jilly’s Toiletries
Named after my favorite companions
”Jake, Milly, and Molly” Jilly’s Toiletries was born at the intersection of
scientific expertise and genuine compassion.
My background is rooted in science: I
hold a BSc (Hons) in Food and Nutritional Science, completed three years of PhD
research in Biochemistry and Nutrition, and worked in the NHS before spending
two decades with a Japanese pharmaceutical firm. That 20-year experience shaped
my core philosophy: true care requires empathy and seeing the whole person, not
just treating a condition.
When one of my closest friends was
diagnosed with recurrent breast cancer, I wanted to support her in a meaningful
way. Recognizing how harsh chemotherapy and radiotherapy can be on the skin, I
set out to formulate natural products that would soothe, comfort, and pamper
her safely alongside her treatments.
Seeing the difference those products
made inspired me to create a complete skincare line using natural ingredients
for everyone. To ensure every formula is as effective and safe as possible, I
am also completing a Master Herbalist Diploma, combining modern biochemistry
with the ancient art of herbal medicine.
